Days Absent is staged (nonzero) — pre-fills the next Generate Payroll run, resets to 0 after that run is committed.
A gold-outlined checkbox is a temporary override for the next run only — Employee Master's saved default underneath is untouched. Both reset automatically after commit, or immediately via the Reset button.
